Pedestrian Friendly Green Spaces

Pedestrian Friendly Green Spaces

Living in Holiday Neighborhood, you will find yourself within walking distance of a two acre city park, a community garden, and several quiet pocket parks. You might take a small path through the park to get a pastry or a latte, or wander past artist studios and galleries along the pedestrian walkway. You might choose to grow flowers or vegetables in the community garden, or take yoga or dance in a studio along Lee Hill Road. Other neighborhood destinations will include local businesses and restaurants, services, outdoor cinema and farmer’s markets. You can be less dependent on your automobile as walking, biking or taking transit offer convenient alternatives. Miles of open space recreation trails are just a few blocks away.

Art and Artist Studios

Art and Artist Studios

Whether you are an artist or an art appreciator, Holiday Neighborhood has something to offer. Studios, live/work residences, and a gallery are a vital aspect of the community. Boulder’s finest architects have collaborated to design a vibrant and diverse block of artists’ lofts along a winding pedestrian way. Art will be incorporated along the pedestrian walkway and throughout the site.

Sustainable Design

Sustainable Design

As part of the Holiday Neighborhood experience, you will enjoy a sense of environmental responsibly and health, knowing that leading edge sustainable technologies have been incorporated in building and site design. Your home will be located on a street that was designed to capture views and promote favorable solar exposure. The park will include an innovative drainage system to improve runoff water quality. Your home may include sustainably harvested, resource conservative, and non-toxic materials in its construction. At night, you can see the stars - thanks to outdoor lighting that has been modeled to maximize energy efficiency, reduce light pollution, and promote safety.

History

History

Holiday Neighborhood has incorporated themes to help preserve our past. If you have lived in Boulder long, you might recall the days of the twin screen Holiday Drive In Theater. The theater operated at the site from 1969 to 1988. We have named Easy Rider Lane after the first movie that brought people to north Boulder. We have also preserved the Holiday Sign, which is a rare representation of the “googie” style popular in the 1950s. You can enjoy a view of this prominent landmark from the community gardens or the bike path along US 36. Holiday Park will feature southern exposure and great views of the Flatirons and Dakota Ridge from the former site of the main screen. Perhaps you or your family will enjoy a new incarnation of the drive-in, sharing popcorn and soda at the outdoor cinema in Holiday Park.
